Admissions FAQ

When can my child join the school?

Children can join St. Joseph's from age 4 in our Reception Class. We accept admissions anytime through the year, subject to availability in year groups.

Can my child attend for a trial / taster day before joining?

Yes we advise that all pupils attend St Joseph's for a minimum of one taster day before joining. This will give them a chance to meet peers and staff.

When can my child take a Scholarship examination?

Scholarships can be taken in February each year. Scholarship awards would then commence in the September.

Is there a discount for younger siblings?

Yes we offer 5% for the second child and 10% for the third child.

What time does school start and finish?

Registration for Senior (years 7 to 11) pupils is at 8.20am. Registration for Junior pupils (Reception to Year 6) is at 8.30am. Pupils may arrive at school at 8am and go to the library where they will be supervised by a member of staff. School lessons finish at 3.30pm. Monday to Thursday there are a number of extra-curricular activities for children to take part in or pupils have the option to stay for prep. Junior prep finishes at 5pm, Senior prep at 5.30pm. On Fridays all pupils finish at 3.30pm

When can I visit the school?

Prospective parents can visit at anytime throughout the year, contact our Registrar, Rebecca Walker and she would be delighted to arrange an appointment for you.
