Welcome from the Headteacher
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the St Joseph's School website and, if you are a prospective parent, I hope that what you discover about our school here will lead you on to what I know will be a great visit to the school itself. Parents who choose St Joseph's entrust us with the welfare and progress of their children - one of the most important jobs in the world - and it is a responsibility we take very seriously indeed.
I hope that the information on these pages will give you a taste of the many opportunities on offer here for all our pupils, both curricular, pastoral and in terms of the excellent extra-curricular provision we provide.
St Joseph’s is a happy, thriving school that offers every pupil a firm foundation for life, one where happy, successful children are at the heart of all we do. Pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential, whether academically, sport or the arts.
We have high expectations of every child and this combined with small teaching groups and excellent pastoral care ensures our pupils develop a confidence that is key to future success.
We have continued to offer excellent care and academic provision throughout the Covid 19 pandemic, and we are very proud of the outstanding online all round education received by the children during this time. We are set up to provide this again in the future - though we fervently hope we will never need to.
Details of our provision can be found under the Life @ StJ section of this website and I would be happy to discuss these plans with any prospective parents. Our children have risen to the unique challenges this year have brought in extraordinary ways, and I could not be prouder of their many achievements. This is their school, and they have shown the care, compassion and community that are at the heart of our ethos with all they have done.
Visits to the school are welcomed. Ordinarily our pupils would be delighted to show you their school and talk to you about why they feel happy, challenged and proud of their achievements, however in these changed times of 2020 we are pleased that we can still organise socially distanced visits in line with school protocol. During these, we will ensure you meet key staff and answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to meeting you in person in the near future.
With best wishes,
